COURSE BREAKDOWN
Block-based Coding
Students learn how to use block-based coding in javascript to build beats. They also have the ability to see their code live using our html feature.
Beat Production
Students compose custom beats using an array of tools such as our beat remixing function, music library, visualizer, and more!
Showcase & Recognition
Students participate in a beat cypher where they showcase their beats and have the chance to win prizes. They also have the option to share on social media.

Upon completing the workshop, students and teachers will have access to 30+ free CodeHS courses, like Web Design and Intro to Javascript, and a suite of teacher tools.

BEAT MVP CONTEST
Every student that creates a beat has the opportunity to submit it to multiple contests where they can win prizes and earn the title of Beat MVP. All students who submit will receive a certificate of celebration from Facebook. More information on how to enter the contest can be found in your facilitator and student guides.

We welcome in-classroom and afterschool educators from computer science and music backgrounds to facilitate our workshop. Review our checklist for our full requirements.
